Playing Modes Available In The Game

Words Mode

In order to pass the room in “Words” find the objects written in the list below in that room and click on them.

Shadows Mode

In order to pass the room in “shadows” decrypt silhouettes that appear in the list below and find in the room corresponding items.

TIP: If you have any trouble use Laser, Electromagnet or Glasses, available in the ‘Tools’ tab of the Store.

Night Mode

In the night mode, room will be dark with small circle of light to find objects.

Night mode could be either words or shadows

TIP: Maximize brightness of your computer screen. If you are facing difficulty use Light Bomb, Flashlight or Strong Flashlight available in the ‘Tools’ tab of the Store.

Cache Mode

► Its night mode with some additional features that makes it more difficult.

► To first time activate cache mode in any room you will have to complete that room’s puzzle.

► Time goes 2 times faster in the cache mode

► Cache mode could be in words or shadows

► Reward for completing the room and chance of finding rare and very rare items increased.

► You got keys when you go through most of the rooms in cache mode for the first time.

TIP: In addition to tools used in night mode you can use additional tool Watch or Chronometer to slow down time. Both available in the ‘tools’ tab of the store. Do not forget to maximize brightness of your computer screen.







Trap Mode 1: Invisible Ink

Available from level-10

The entrance to the room in trap modes requires one half times more health. e.g. if you need 30 health to go through any room in normal modes, you will need 45 (30+15) health to go through the same room in a trap mode.

The name of the objects appear gradually. New letters appear every 12 seconds. you have to guess the word and find the object in the picture.

Activation/ Deactivation

The mode will randomly appear approximately once in every eight passes of the room but they can be enabled with special activators. To do this before entering the room you need to click on the image of the trap mode and agree to use the activator. if you dont have activator in your inventory the game will ask you to purchase it, or you can find it at places mentioned below.

Or conversely, if you dont want to pass the room in this mode, it can be turned off by a special deactivator. To do this before entering the room you need to click on the image of mode you want to replace the trap mode with and agree to use the deactivator. if you dont have deactivator in your inventory the game will ask you to purchase it, or you can find it at places mentioned below.

Activator:

Special Inkwell- rats and crows, Jenny, statue, crow, weatercock, gate in the courtyard

Deactivator:

Developer- rats and crows, Jenny, statue, ladder, crow, weathercock in the courtyard.

Trap Mode 2: Against Time

Available from level-20

The entrance to the room in trap modes requires one half times more health. e.g. if you need 30 health to go through any room in normal modes, you will need 45 (30+15) health to go through the same room in a trap mode.

When you enter the room in this mode you will have only 15 seconds to pass the room but each object you find will add 3 seconds in time.


Activation/ Deactivation

The mode will randomly appear approximately once in every eight passes of the room but they can be enabled with special activators. To do this before entering the room you need to click on the image of the trap mode and agree to use the activator. if you dont have activator in your inventory the game will ask you to purchase it, or you can find it at places mentioned below..

Or conversely, if you dont want to pass the room in this mode, it can be turned off by a special deactivator. To do this before entering the room you need to click on the image of mode you want to replace the trap mode with and agree to use the deactivator. if you dont have deactivator in your inventory the game will ask you to purchase it, or you can find it at places mentioned below.

Broken Timer- rats and crows, Jack, bushes, lantern, kite, weathercock in the courtyard

Deactivator:

Good Timer- rats and crows, Jack, bushes, strange shadow, lantern, swing in the courtyard.

Trap Mode 3: Mirror Room

Available from level-30

The entrance to the room in trap modes requires one half times more health. e.g. if you need 30 health to go through any room in normal modes, you will need 45 (30+15) health to go through the same room in a trap mode.

► The room will be inverted and/or flipped from side to side in this mode

► Time is 3 times faster.

► In season three you will also get Mirror room (upside down) and against time modes together.


Activation/ Deactivation

The mode will randomly appear approximately once in every eight passes of the room but they can be enabled with special activators. To do this before entering the room you need to click on the image of the trap mode and agree to use the activator. if you dont have activator in your inventory the game will ask you to purchase it, or you can find it at places mentioned below.

Ghost Mode

This mode is available from Season 2 of the game “Ghosts/Shadows of The Past”.

To activate Ghost Mode in a room for the first time you have to complete Ghost Puzzle’ of that specific room. Ghost puzzle of rooms are available in season 2. Each rooms’ ghost puzzle has its own specific name as given follows;

Kitchen= Well

Living Room = Oak

Basement =Crypt

Hallway= Stone Circle

Children Room=Boudoir

Library=Lounge

Attic=Closet

Bedroom=Marie’s Bedroom

Study=Dining Room (available from Season 3)

After first time, you will need special activators to activate Ghost Mode in any room.


Passing a Room in Ghost Mode:

In the ghost mode you have to find symbols instead of objects. Four symbols will appear in the list. Find four symbols in the picture and click on them - They Will start Glowing. When All four symbols are Glowing, the inhabitant ghost of the room will appear and you need to click on HIM fast before he disappears. Repeat 3 times i.e. you have to find 12 symbols in total and have to catch ghost 3 times. If you fail to catch the ghost, you will need to collect the symbols again.

Activation

The mode will NOT randomly appear like other modes but you have to use special ‘activators’ to activate it in different rooms. To do this before entering the room you need to click on the image of the Ghost Mode and agree to use the activator. if you don’t have activator in your inventory the game will ask you to purchase it, or you can find it in the rooms mentioned below.

You can store 100 of each type of following Ghost Mode Activators in your inventory.

Well Power

Activates Ghost Mode in Kitchen, only if you have completed Well Puzzle.You can find ‘Well Power’ going through the kitchen in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Oak Power

Activates Ghost Mode in Living room, only if you have completed Oak Puzzle. You can find Oak Power’ going through the living room in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Crypt Power

Activates Ghost Mode in Basement, only if you have completed Crypt Puzzle. You can find ‘Crypt Power’ going through the basement in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Stone Power

Activates Ghost Mode in Hallway, only if you have completed Stone Circle Puzzle. You can find Stone Power’ going through the Hallway in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Lynette’s Power

Activates Ghost Mode in Children room, only if you have completed Boudoir Puzzle. You can find Lynnette’s Power’ going through the Children room in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Caleb’s Power

Activates Ghost Mode in Library, only if you have completed Lounge Puzzle. You can find Caleb’s Power’ going through the Library in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Leo’s Power


Activates Ghost Mode in Attic, only if you have completed Closet Puzzle.

You can find Leo’s Power’ going through the Attic in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Marie’s Power

Activates Ghost Mode in Bedroom, only if you have completed Marie’s bedroom Puzzle. You can find Marie’s Power’ going through the bedroom in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Robert’s Power

Activates Ghost Mode in Study, only if you have completed Dining Room Puzzle. You can find Robert’s Power’ going through the Study in any of the above mentioned modes including ghost mode.


Ghost Modes activators can also be purchased from Store (‘activators’ tab) individually or in these two sets.

These two set can also be obtained rarely by interacting backyard objects ‘Hollow’ and ‘Statue’, only by final/fifth click.

Darkness Mode

► This mode is available from Season 3 of the game “Darkness Over The House”.

► Time goes 3 times faster in Darkness Mode.

► To activate Darkness Mode in a room for the first time you have to complete ‘Damned Puzzle’ of that room. Damned puzzle of rooms are available in season 3. After that you will need special activators to activate Darkness mode in any room.


Passing a Room in Darkness Mode:

Find the four Words listed in the search bar as circled in yellow in the first picture below. Then find four Alphabets listed in the search bar in the same order in which they are written in the bar as circled in yellow in the second picture below. Repeat this procedure three times.


Avoid hitting wrong words, as some words act like a trap and cut your energy and time for example words like ‘pain’, ‘angry’ are trap words (circled in red in the first picture below)


Pictures are not that clear but don’t worry it will be clearer when you play the mode. You can use laser or chronometer if you need help.

Damned Warmth

Activates Darkness Mode in Kitchen, only if you have completed Damned Puzzle of Kitchen

You can find ‘Damned Warmth’ going through the kitchen in Mode Darkness or any of the three Trap Modes.

Damned Freedom

Activates Darkness Mode in Hallway, only if you have completed Damned Puzzle of Hallway.

You can find ‘Damned Freedom’ going through the Hallway in Mode Darkness or any of the three Trap Modes.



Quickly Switching to a Specific Mode Required by The Quest


‘When I have a quest that requires the room to be in a certain mode, it takes forever to get that mode, I use one of my trap mode activators to get it, for instance if the quest asks for the room to be in words mode, I use one of the activators that I have the most, usually broken timer, it takes me to against time mode, then I use my good timer to take me to words mode, works perfectly.’ (by Cremilda Motta)


Also when you open the room required to pass for a quest, the required mode will be glowing. when you hover your mouse over the glowing mode it will tell you for which quest you need to pass through that particular mode. e.g. in following image its telling me to activate words mode in basement for quest ‘indisputable argument’.
